Clinical Psychologists

Clinical Psychology | a confidential service available at SMS

Introduction

People from all walks of life seek therapy for different reasons. SMS is delighted to announce its partnership with Assured Psychological Services (APS), who work therapeutically with children and adults experiencing a variety of problems, life issues and/or symptoms of a psychological disorder.

About clinical psychology

Clinical Psychology is the application of evidence-based assessment, formulation and intervention techniques to alleviate mental health difficulties.

What is a Clinical Psychologist?

A clinical psychologist is a licensed mental health professional with a doctorate qualification (ClinPsyD) who specialises in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological difficulties. Clinical psychologists are experts in the management of cognitive, emotional and behavioural problems. They have knowledge of a number of therapeutic approaches, to help individuals tackle problematic thoughts, beliefs and behaviours.
